Scholarship helps those students pursuing a degree in the healthcare IT field and recipient will receive recognition at HIMSS ‘09
WEYMOUTH, MA – March 25, 2009 – Healthcare management consulting firm Beacon Partners, Inc. today announced that Valerie McCleary, from the College of St. Scholastica, is the recipient of the 2009 Beacon Partners Scholarship.
Beacon Partners sponsored the scholarship through the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Foundation, an organization dedicated to inspiring charitable giving and education within the healthcare industry.
Ms. McCleary, who is pursuing a Master in Arts in Health Informatics and Information Management, will receive a $7,000 scholarship award, along with an all-expense paid trip to the 2009 Annual HIMSS Conference and Exhibition in Chicago. She will be recognized at the HIMSS Awards and Recognition Banquet on April 4th.

Requirements include:
- Be a member in good standing of HIMSS.
- Full-time student at the time the scholarship is awarded.
- Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate, Masters or PhD program related to the healthcare information management systems field.
- If an undergraduate applicant, be at least a first-time junior when the scholarship is awarded.
- Submit a 500-word essay according to the scholarship guidelines.
- Have not previously received a HIMSS Foundation scholarship.
