WEYMOUTH, MA, August 8, 2005 - Beacon Partners announced today the addition of Alan Worsham to their Executive Consulting Team. Mr. Worsham will provide services to healthcare organizations focused on IT strategy and information system optimization as well as integration of business operations with system functionality. Mr. Worsham has more than 25 years of healthcare and IT experience in senior level positions with major healthcare institutions.
Prior to joining Beacon, Mr. Worsham spent 12 years at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis where he held multiple positions with expanding scope and responsibility, most recently as CIO of the Faculty Practice Plan. He was integral to the development of a centralized environment for physician billing and a key leader in the expansion of information technology for the organization. During his tenure he was responsible for leading a staff of 40, and provided support for over 900 physicians and 3000+ users.
Mr. Worsham led his IT team to constantly push for increased utilization of IDX functionality. He implemented new technology as it became available such as IDX’s Transaction Editing System (TES) and document scanning (EDMS), Ingenix ClaimsManager, and Allscripts TouchWorks EHR system. Additionally, he partnered with IDX in the development of many enhancements and features, including the Alerts Manager module within AVM, front-desk scanning of insurance cards, the ability to automatically index EOB’s during payment posting, and the Enterprise Task Manager (ETM) application. In addition to ETM, Washington University was one of the first organizations to utilize Flowcast v3.0, Appointment Manager, Enterprise Index, and both Claim Payer Edit and Claims Status EDI transactions.
